Live Music Safari 2015: friendships at Loop
The friendships flavour
friendships embrace change and movement, exploring genres and exploiting at will to push for new sounds. This Melbourne-based art collaboration consisting of Nic and Misha produce wonderful, tripped-out beats, that re-shape sound in strange and attractive ways.
One part visual and one part music, friendships is an art project focused on pushing boundaries while embracing community and Australian music.
friendships won the Listen Out competition in 2013, and opened the 909 Stage at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Melbourne. friendships shared the best advice they’ve been given, “Don’t be precious about your art”, from Michelle Mantsio (Misha’s university lecturer).
frienships are part of this year’s Golden Plains and Paradise line ups, supported Purity Ring, and toured the US twice this year already.
Experience frienships at Loop
It’s almost time for an out-of-body experience with friendships at Loop. friendships will bring the bend of light and sound, playing alongside Jonny Faith, ALTA and Wabz in Loop’s audio-visual showdown for Melbourne Music Week’s Live Music Safari. These artists are known for their powers to flex and mould the spectrum of sound and light in their own unique ways. We are excited. Loop enlisted Peninsula Production Services to ensure that the delightful, experimental sounds of the featured artists are crystal clear and amplified by quality sound engineers, VOID Acoustics (so you can still enjoy the experience as you spill out onto Meyers Place).
