A special welcome home show, for Tailor Birds, joined by local Melbourne bands Rachel by the Stream, and Earthwire. The night also will showcase the beautiful visuals of Xanthe Dobbie, and some other surprises.
Tailor Birds – Weaving together dynamic strings, punchy drum beats, heavy bass lines, and glistening vocals. Melbourne 4-piece, Tailor Birds, perform ballads, combining old and new classical/folk melodies. Using everyday objects such as wine glasses, paper, and books as sound sources, these provide a back drop to their sound. Tailor Birds’ live shows give listeners an experience of sound design and jazz artistry.
Rachel by the Stream – Melbourne mash-up darlings Rachel By The Stream mix synched live looping and multi-instrumentalism to create a fun and eclectic fusion of dub grooves, pop riffs and r’n’b soul. Sparkle sweet melody meets a thumping bottom end in an act described by Obese publicist Sam Price as “a totally distinctive talent”. Fresh from gracing the stage at Glastonbury Festival on their recent UK tour, the duo return to Melbourne town to bring the ruckus in true rainbow-coloured, multi-flavoured RBTS style.
Earthwire – Dark psychedelica that focuses on the lyrical complexity and intricate sound development. Melbourne 3-piece, they seek to actively immerse listeners by way of promoting contemplation and emotional change through their music.
