Virtual Gaming Session
Find out about the current uses of virtual reality and future applications.
We meet every second month on a Tuesday evening at Loop Project Space & Bar. The night includes a Q & A forum, virtual reality experience using Google Cardboard & Samsung headsets in the front room and HTC Vive demo in the back room on large format screens.
Vive is a first-of-its-kind virtual reality system. Let yourself be visually, physically and emotionally amazed by new virtual worlds filled with awe-inspiring characters, sights and sounds.
An opportunity for the audience to ask questions or experience VR (Virtual Reality) and 360 video for themselves.
Each session will look at a specific industry and how VR can be applied to that industry in the commercial environment. The idea is to engage developers and commercial industry and grow the VR community.
This session the subject is Virtual Gaming.

Speakers include: Emily Harridge founder of Visual Playground, an international award winning creative studio. Awards include; AEAF Awards, Promax ANZ , APDG Awards and MADC Awards.
Guest Speaker: Zero Latency will talk about the next level of gaming. Imagine a game that doesn’t feel like a game. Where your body is the controller. And your mind believes it’s real.
Zero Latency is a Melbourne, Australia based VR startup is running one of the first multiplayer virtual reality gaming centres. Zero Latency’s VR Zombie warfare game is a 6 player game that uses wireless headsets, body motion tracking and room-scale location tracking. They are set to open more venues around Australia this year.
Norman is an award-winning 3D artist and Executive Director at Opaque Media Group, where he leads a number of projects in the area of real-time production and virtual reality. Norman’s journey in VR storytelling began with the Virtual Dementia Experience, an award-winning virtual reality simulation that allows people to experience the world from the perspective of someone living with dementia.
Norman now leads Earthlight – a VR game being developed in collaboration with space agencies around the world that allows players to immersively experience the journey of becoming an astronaut as well as the wonders and perils of space.
Outside of Opaque Media Group, Norman is a PhD researcher in cognitive psychology with a focus on understanding how immersive experience affect human perception and cognition.
Demonstrations & Networking from 8pm – 10pm: Experience Virtual Reality From8pm – 10pm and network with like minded individuals.
Format: Large Format Screens, Google Cardboard headsets, Samsung Gear VR & HTC Vive demo headset at Loop (licenced project space and bar with food menu & music).
