EXChange :::: What do we get out of change in the city?
In an age of rapid change, and rapidly evolving technologies, it seems that change itself is an entirely expected phenomenon.

But if cities exist to enable exchange — for the wealth of its citizens — what part does change play in this exchange, and what part do citizens play in it?
Moreover, what part do citizens play in how cities are made and re-made?

Do citizens merely attempt to ‘keep-up’ with change, or can they be drivers of this? And who are the city’s citizens, anyway? And how ought they be a part of a dialogue that in itself helps shape the change we need; change that will enable appropriate forms of urban exchange and meaning?

Three Melbourne-based designers will address these issues through their different lens and work.

JILL GARNER – Associate Victorian Government Architect
ANDREW FEENEY – urban designer
RORY HYDE – Rory Hyde Projects
