Between Words & Worlds: Architecture in Translation
What is architecture’s relationship with the written word? This month’s PROCESS investigates the two-way translation between ‘words’ and ‘worlds’, their influences and manifestations. The night will be divided into two parts:
Words to Worlds:
How do seminal books, manifestos- and even the act of writing itself- inform real buildings, cultures and imaginations?
Worlds to Words:
How do physical spaces and environments become internalised again, feeding back into publications, reviews, reflections, essays?
:::::: SPEAKERS ::::::
MAT WARD – URO Media
UTAKO SHINDO – Artist
DAN RULE – Perimeter Books
ALEX SELENITSCH – artist/architect
Four speakers across the disciplines of critical writing, publishing, art and architecture will present on either or both of these trajectories, ending with an open-forum discussion on how productive these translations (or even mis-translations) between words and spaces can be.
