After establishing a following in Japan, and being featured on Japanese rap artist, Robert De Boron’s album, Melbourne artist Kharisma is releasing his new song Genesis in celebration of his album release in Japan called ‘Note To Self’. This catchy 90s-feel song will transport you to the days of baggy pants and Kriss Kross. Kharisma performs his new single, as well songs from his new album.

From the southeast suburbs of Melbourne is small-time rapper Kharisma. The 24-year-old began writing in 2007, incorporating hip-hop influences from Asia, Australia and the US. Taking artists such as Childish Gambino, Kendrick Lamar and Seth Sentry as inspiration, the writer and producer keeps his songwriting honest and heartfelt.

Signed to Roots of Society Records in 2013, he released his first official EP In Time. Since then he has released 5 EP’s, and has began a following in Japan after invitations to perform at various events, such as the final show of In Ya Mellow Tone tour and launch of Mono Creation record label to name a few.

In partnership with Japanese record label Goon Trax, Kharisma has released his first album ‘Note To Self’ in Japan available now in stores and digitally, and with his worldwide release soon due, he is turning to Melbourne to release a bonus single ‘Genesis’. In collaboration with local producer David Farnsworth, Kharisma experiments with his sound, bringing an old school 90s vibe to the mix.
