After completing a Bachelor of Arts in Ceramics at the University of Ballarat (1996) Suzanne moved into the field of costume and fashion, as a self-taught seamstress (Asylum7 clothing). Running her own store/online business and participating in numerous fashion parades for over a decade has brought her back to the world of sculpture and character work where her imagination can be free without the constraints of fittings, customer briefs and repetitious production. With the combined textile and ceramic elements, this new direction has captured the imagination of a broad range of people and taps into the otherworldly and slightly haunting world of anthropomorphism.
