A collaborative performance exploring themes of loss and gain of identity, belonging and cultural acceptance.
Deafness is an invisible stigma. Deaf and hard of hearing people develop an invisible skin to ?t into the mainstream. This creative development event will explore and identify the art statement “Invisible skin” with references to loss and gain of identity, belonging and cultural acceptance.
Invisible Skin will be presented as a narrative performance artform with collaborative elements of physical theatre, Auslan, projected digital artworks, ?lm, text and music by Deaf performers concluding with Q & A. The audience are provided with an insight into personal experiences shared by those who have experienced “invisible skin”. Fully accessible
