Join Greenpeace Australia-Pacific for the launch of the People vs. Oil campaign: Great Australian Bight edition.
The Great Australian Bight is under threat from oil drilling which not only threatens this precious marine environment, but also the communities whose livelihood depend on it. In a time when a transition to a renewable energy future is crucial to avoid catastrophic climate change, Australia finds itself on the forefront of a decisive battle to stop a new frontier of oil exploration and drilling.
At this special launch event you’ll get to join with other Greenpeace supporters for an inside look at the campaign to save the Great Australian Bight, see the premiere of a new short film on the Bight as well as find out how you can be involved in the campaign in Melbourne over the coming months. You’ll be joined by Greenpeace staff working on the campaign as well as hearing from those affected communities on the frontline of the campaign.
It’ll be a social vibe with some finger food provide with drinks and more substantial food available from the bar of our friends at Loop Project Space in Melbourne’s CBD. Friends welcome, and the venue can have under 18’s til 8pm.
