This month we are back in Loop’s front room for a big night of short films. Filmonik is an open-screen screening for short films of any genre with a duration of 5 minute or less. The audience gets to discover new short films for free on a big screen and on a great sound system, chat with filmmakers and drink a few pints in a laid back bar environment. As a filmmaker it is open-screen because you can show up on the night with your newest film on a USB drive and it will get screened. Organize your own premiere with us or run your festival film without the hassle of submitting and paying entry fees. Spontaneously submitted short films of any genre and of all filmmaking levels create surprisingly awesome and balanced screenings for the public and for the filmmakers who climb on stage after their film for a quick QA with the host. You can read the loose guidelines here:http://filmonik.com.au/ how-to-screen/. You can screen and will see comedies, horror, drama, visual experimentations, docos, animations, action, and everything in between in equal doses.
This month we will also reveal details and a trailer for our Filmonik Kino Kabaret event at the end of October where Filmmakers, Actors and Film artisans of all fields and even some international guests will join for 2 crazy weekends of filmmaking in a collaborative space.
