Filmonik is a free monthly short film screening of 5 to 6 minute or less short films. Uncurated, spontaneously submitted short films of any genre and of all filmmaking levels create awesome and slightly crazy screenings for the public and for the filmmakers who also climb on stage for a quick QA with host Iphigenie Frey. Filmonik is a bit like a monthly non competitive filmfest (without the fees) but since it’s a part of the worldwide Kino movement active in more than 70 cities around the world (http://www.planetekino.com/) there’s a part of us that wants to show everyone that Melbourne filmmaking is alive, fun, spontaneous and strong.
