SoS is not far away!! Don’t forget to register! Find the link here: tinyurl.com/SoS-Narrm-2018

In case you don’t know, SoS (Students of Sustainability) is an incredible gathering of folks from all over the continent who come together to learn, share and grow strong communities resisting the forces of colonisation, capitalism and the white cis-hetero-patriarchy.

We’re throwing this film night to help raise funds for the fast approaching gathering. Funds raised will go towards flights and accommodation for First Nations elders and community leaders to fly from around the continent to attend and lead workshops.

If you would like to find out more information about ASEN or SoS, check out studentsofsustainability.org, or chat with us about it at Loop Bar!

: : : now, to the films : : :

Mining the Truth is a film made by our very own ASEN crew telling the stories of mining communities on the east coast of so-called Australia – check out the trailer here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7SSyWA1Ft0

We’ll also be showing films from the incredible musician and staunch activist Izzy Brown from the rad band Combat Wombat, who weaves music and messages together in the work that she does – more details on these films to come!

? No one will be turned away from this night for lack of funds, but as it is a fundraising event for a really rad gathering, we are asking 10 dollars on the door, and suggest 20+ dollars if you have money to share/spare ?

~ This event is being held on the Wurrundjeri land of the Kulin nations and we acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded and colonisation has, and continues a devastating process of genocide and dispossession. We pay our respects to elders past, present and emerging ~

~ Loop Bar is a wheelchair accessible venue ~
