All you lovely lads, chicas and ladyboyz, get set for another installment of ARTHOUSE. This time we have the legendary Aussie export Kasey Taylor with a 2-hour set for your delectation and enjoyment. The night will also include some of Melbourne’s top Producers and DJs including:

Kasey Taylor
& with VJ Lightsoulja

Dust off your dancing feet, go to the chiropractor, physio and get ready to boogie like a jitterbug…till sunrise.

Kasey Taylor began his DJ career at the age of 13 on the decks at a little roller disco in Australia, and he’s gone on to now become one of Australia’s biggest ever dance music exports, and one of the most widely recognised DJ’s around the globe today.

To date, his career resume is an impressive read, ticking off gigs at almost every big show in Melbourne and having held residencies at every club worth noting.

In particular, Kasey played an integral role in creating the magic that was the ‘Mansion’. In fact, it was such an institution that you felt like you were at a dedicated church for music every Saturday night.
The venue has gone down in clubbing history and during Kasey’s time spent there, he played alongside everyone you could imagine – like Sasha, John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo, Carl Cox, Satoshi Tomiie and the list goes on and on.

In fact, so impressed was Digweed that he invited Kasey to play at his Bedrock night in London twice. A night, and a brand recognised by the music industry as one of the greatest in the world. Kasey was lucky enough to be invited to play 2 years in a row on Easter Thursday, which is one of the biggest Bedrock nights of the year.

Very few figures in the Melbourne underground music scene have earned the respect that Michael Muska has due to his tireless devotion and dedication to Australian dance culture over the last decade.

Leading by example, this ‘innovator’ in every sense of the word has been the driving creative force behind some of Melbourne’s most loved, abstract, unique and memorable parties for over ten years. Inviting patrons to constantly challenge their preconceived notions of genre-fication thru an offering of experimentally warped and multi-faceted musical experiences.

As prevalent as it is in his creative role as an event/concept developer, this same thought process, vibrance and creative energy is translated fluently across captivated dance floors. From side rooms to festival main stages, Muska displays an inert ability to connect with the energy and emotion of a dance floor allowing him to react accordingly with profound unspoken empathy, gaining both a sense of understanding, trust and the sharing of mutual respect between himself and those involved.

Sekkt is made up of siblings – Pavel (production, trumpet), Lenka (vocals, saxophone) and Matija (vocals, trombone) who have been playing music together since they were children. They learnt guitar, vocals, saxophone, trumpet and accordion, and everything from classical music and jazz, to Balkan folk music.

Just a few years old, Sekkt has already had considerable success. In late 2012, Sekkt returned to Australia after finishing a 15-show tour of Germany, France, Spain and Portugal. In August 2012 while in Europe, Sekkt was a featured artist on DW Radio, Germany’s international broadcaster.

In recording and performance, Sekkt combines live instruments with electronic beats; Eastern European melodies, with funk and electronica, both original compositions and remixes.

Sekkt has also notched up performances at 3 Australian music festivals – Rainbow Serpent, Shine On and Maitreya. With performances at the Melbourne Fashion Festival and regular performances at Melbourne venues, bars and clubs, Sekkt presents a new approach to production and performance.
