We invite individuals and collectives to submit proposals. Please e-mail proposals to: info@looponline.com.au for inclusion in our 2007 program. Please note that Loop does not charge rental fees for use of the space.

 
CURRENT PROGRAMS
TEST PILOT A program dedicated to independent film. Emerging filmmakers and film societies present new works. Test Pilot embraces a wide cross-section of genres – including narrative, experimental, short film, documentary, animation and video art. Filmmakers and producers can also organise fundraisers, workshops, tributes and forums.

ELECTUNDRA Melbourne’s audio visual underground in all its glory, combining fresh pulses and strains of electronic music with innovative screen imagery. Featuring acts such as Spoonbill/ Dropbear, Robin Fox, All India Radio/Martin Kennedy, Soteria Bell/Blake Barratt, Tim Webster, Koshowko/Martin Hansen, City Frequencies/Object State, Soul Mirage/dpwolf, Isnod and Max/River River, LBW/Joseph Barrows, Seth Rees/Guy Harris, The Spheres, Grey Skies Blue Ensemble, Foreign Birds, Because of Ghosts Duo/Jacob Pearce and Reuben Stanton, Cam Butler/Jacob Simkin, Amanaska/Simon Lewis, and Wind Up Toy/Object State. PROCESS The Royal Australian Institute of Architects invite emerging architects to address new concepts and practical issues in contemporary architecture on the first Monday of each month. Recent presenters include Stuart Harrison, Brigette Cameron, Brandon Yeoh, Jerome Frumar, Dominique Ng, Kerstin Thompson, Ivan Rijavec, Janet McGaw, Tim Hurburgh and Mark O'Dywer.

FROMAGE With a keen edge honed by years of fanatical crate diving, Fromage's effort is to cut through the tenuous trends and genre-humping of the modern club scene. It's as simple as introducing the sexy disco audio gems of bygone eras to handsome contemporary jams on the third Friday of each month. Featuring Phil Smart, Clint Hargreaves, Chestwig 5000, Nate B, PCP and Dr Disconyx with visuals by Pied Piper Productions..

OPEN ARENA A performance night that presents new hybrids of theatre, performance and screen art. Emerging performance artists test new ideas in short experimental pieces. Recent highlights include 'Bazaar', 'Dark Sparks' and 'Distractions' performed and directed by the dancers of Travel Art Dance Company.

KITE Tertiary institutions present experimental screen works and multimedia. Participating schools include VCA, RMIT, LaTrobe, Deakin, Swinburne, Melbourne and Monash Unversities.

PITCH BITCH The Pitch Bitch playground fires up host DJs Mo Ichi and Miyagi mish mashing deep electro, click house and acid tech beats every second Saturday night of the month at Loop. The visuals are by f-stop and hi.tek.trash. The project is manufactured by i.n.k.

FIDGET FRIDAY. Scatterbuff presents a mass of music and visuals for our next killer event. After the success of the first night, we've turned the heat up a notch. Buff Diss will be performing his own style of masking tape art all over loop which needs to be seen to be believed. DJs scattermish, Loot, Emillionzzz and Deltoid will be serving up a dancey party selection of electro, hip hop, baile, bmore, and house blends, with VJ Sauce Face blowing up the projectors. ATTACK OF THE KILLER FAIRY PENGUINS If you can see the penguins, they can see you. If you can't see the penguins, it may already be too late. Join Harry Helix and special guest DJs Andrew Jobe and George Z at the launch party for Attack of the Killer Fairy Penguins - a bumpy ride of tech-house to get your weekend started with a fat little shake of your rump. Also featuring the twisted visual artistry of Joseph Barrows. The penguins are restless.

IT'S YOUR THING combines turntabalism, MCing and other live acts. A mash up of funk, soul, hip-hop, rock, beats and rhymes, It's Your Thing is led by a dedicated collective including Mr. Moonshine, Sketchendry, Mikeydubwiser, IlResponce and Orfd who all work hard on the third Saturday of each month in bringing the house down.

PICKELED BEATS Serving plates of carefully selected produce
designed to please the most discerning of aural gastronomes. A gourmet delight that's guaranteed to make you scratch your pants and move your feet. This is a dish best served loud, and eaten standing up. Zanda will be supplying entrées coming in all shapes of fatness - funk from deep to dusty, fun-ass hip hop and delicious grooves Mains will be served by DJ Lickweed, fulfilling all your cravings with a blend of the essential hip hop ingredients, old and new coupled with generous scratchings. The Sweet Desert is Paul's area of expertise. Martini on rocks is always accompanied by spinning platters of fresh-sliced beats and marinated electro. We hope you enjoy this culinary experience brought to you by those who know: "the best beats are pickled beats." With special guest VJ's 'Team Attack'!!!
