TUESDAY 31 January - 7:30pm - LOOPDELOOP      

LoopdeLoop is an animation challenge. Each month, animators from around the world create looping animations based on a given topic and upload them to www.loopdeloop.org. On the last Tuesday of the month all of the posted loops are compiled and screened to a live audience at Loop. During the screening a winner is declared, who enters the hall of fame and has their loop featured throughout the following month. January theme is Cheese Dreams. Twitter, FB, Vimeo

   
WEDNESDAY 1 February - 7pm - SEENSOUND Visual/Music Series    

Brigid Burke (Bass Clarinet, Laptop & live video projections), Mark Pederson (Laptop & live video projections). A new media performance group which creates all original work through sound, live laptop, woodwind, improvisation and live video. They have built a repertoire of new works, collaboratively devised through performances and rehearsal that draws on free improvisation, noise music, algorithmic composition, and live video art. Other works in this presentation are from Jim Denley (Sydney) Dan Senn (America) Justin Bradshaw (Italy) Warren Burt (Melb) and others. The SeenSound: Visual/Music series provides a space for the presentation of short visual/music works. Visual/Music series commenced in 2011, curated by Melbourne-based audio-visual artist Brigid Burke, and is proudly supported by Loop.

   

EVERY THURSDAY - 9pm - MOOD
     

The name MOOD speaks for itself... we are all about getting you in the right mood with groovy deep house, disco and techno tunes. We welcome people from all corners of the world with a love for good quality electronic music. Come check out Melbourne’s no.1 weeknight Deep House event in a cosy and warm environment with an excellent sound system and huge screens for visuals. Resident DJ NuBody brings his unique sound to Thursday nights in Melbourne always accompanied by a special guest. Watch them spin from 9pm till late every Thursday at Loop. No cover!

SATURDAY 4 February 10pm - PICKLED BEATS presents TOM LOUD (Syd)      

Fresh from sell-out shows at the Sydney Fringe Festival, DJ Tom Loud is returning to Pickled Beats at Loop for an epic 5 hour AV, mashup, super party! Sydney's number one audio-visual DJ will be throwing down a truly eclectic blend of hiphop, funk, rock, swing, dubstep, drum and bass and techno, mixed with hundreds of snippets of youtube, tv and the movies. "DJ/VJ Loud mashes the fuck out of songs and videos to create an audio-visual orgy of awesomeness....It was hard to know whether to watch the big screen, sing along, laugh our socks off, or dance like maniacs." WEDNESDAY 8 February - 6pm onwards for an 8pm screening - PAUSE DOCUMENTARY      

Pause would like to invite you to its first event in 2012! We are pretty happy about the first instalment of Pause last year and would like to welcome you with a premiere of a special 11:30 min documentary that we just finished. Another very important agenda for the gathering will be a special opportunity to join the Pause 2012 crew to help in shaping the international festival while growing its network. Bring your bcards or send your CV's with preferred position in the subject to info@pausefest.com.au 6pm start so that you can come right after work and grab a drink or some food and settle in. Documentary screening at 8pm.

   
FRIDAY 10 February - 10pm - UNCOMFORTABLE BEATS pres. UNCOMFORTABLE LOOPS      

As part of their 2012 takeover plans, the Uncomfortable Beats crew steps out on a weekend to the lovely surrounds of Loop. On showcase will be mind-bending live beats, which will express the diversity of sounds in local electronic music. To add to this special occasion it will be the release party for the Uncomfortable Beats compilation album #2 which will be available for sale on the night. This release will feature some of the best up and coming Australian based producers including, Ghostsoul, Able8, Electric Sea Spider, Amin Payne and Cazeaux O.S.L.O who will all be performing on the night, plus a whole lot more. Expect to hear the sounds of live Glitch-Hop and Wonky Hip-Hop, mixed with cosmic visual projections from back-to-back VJ's Chronic Sans and Justin. Best of all entry is free, so come down for an exciting night of fantastic tunes and good times.

Whispers in the streets about the last ebb&flo party are still floating around.
Chris Fortier holding the room for 3 hours in what was a night for all punters to lock up in the memory bank. It was testament to what ebb&flo is about; the opportunity for Melbourne to experience quality electronic music in all its forms in a comfortable environment.
Jon Beta, Lister Cooray & Nikko have had a pretty heavy summer, the record bags have been
getting heavier and it's time for the digging to get a little deeper. This installment of ebb&flo it's straight up - Jon Beta, Lister Cooray & Nikko - 7 hours. No set times, just let the good times flo.

TUESDAY 14 February - 7pm - TWEETFILM

TweetFilm is a Twitter-based movie watching experience where every participant watches the same film at the same time and live-tweets it – it’s like talking through a movie, 140 characters at a time. In association with Loop, TweetFilm is proud to present our latest live screening event. There will be a free screening of Jurassic Park with the Twitter feed projected alongside, so everyone present can take part in the conversation. Join us on from 7:00 pm for a 7:30 start!

THURSDAY 16 February - 7pm - J DILLA TRIBUTE NIGHT
Join us to celebrate the life of the great J Dilla A.K.A Jay Dee who brought us amazing and inspiring music throughout his lifetime. An audio-visual tribute to one of the world's loved and missed recording artist and producer. All donations raised from this event will be donated to the J Dilla Foundation. On this evening Local DJs and Producers will be playing music composed and inspired by J Dilla including unreleased tracks, live remixes and live MPC sets. SATURDAY 18 February - 10pm - PRONOSIS
After ushering in their first birthday in December, which saw a capacity club treated to an evening packed full of audio visual treats, this February 18th sees the Prognosis crew head back to Loop to write the next chapter in their musical journey. Headlining festivities for this edition are Melb prog legends Chris Meehan and The Chunky Fuckers. Support duties will be handled by J-Slyde, Simon Murphy, Aaron Static and Thomm Brooke, while Manoeuvre.tv will supply visuals for the duration. Expect the best in prog, tech, house and everything else in-between. Free entry all night!

TUESDAY 21 February - 7pm - COMFORTABLE SHORTS
Comfortable Shorts is THE monthly Short Film Night Servicing Melbourne! Comfortable Shorts will bring you the best Short Films both locally, and globally!. This exciting night boasts a DJ Able, Prizes, Q&A with directors and writers, complimentary nibbles and a fully serviced bar. This is the ideal place to network, chat, have a couple of drinks, be merry, and above all watch some great cinema. What more could any film buff want?
