Diaporama (Fr.): “a photographic slideshow, sometimes with accompanying audio.” For this performance, New Zealand-born, Melbourne-based musician/sound artist and sometimes engineer Blackbird* inverts this standard definition, presenting an audio slideshow with a splash of accompanying photography. Consisting entirely of audio fragments collected by Blackbird* from around the globe over 2010-2011, Diaporama explores various themes by creating links through unusual and often striking juxtapositions of sound. Not your run of the mill slide night! FB
